each of us has
power to
change the world
it is something we
know to be true inside
(ask your in-silence knower)
something hoped
but how how how
how do we connect to it?
what is the difference between
expectation & change?
we must march
we must advance
together. i must step forward
first now, then next, then after that
we find we never march alone we
help each other. we soon become
the strong shoulders
on which the newer will
gain their feet
we are one road ourselves
a bound-together macadam
a way away from here
to be an activist is to
wake & dream when
you walk through life
to see the light of your
own actions
give new meaning to dark
worldnesses around you
to cast a new picture
a new image
an unsuspected truth
to hear the light
from other lips
we are candles
we are stars
we are shining rain
& rainbows
where once cement
was the only
unwashed color
brighten ye the world
with every step
begin with these, my
thousand heartbeated
hows hows hows
now &
your every
next step
not as difficult
as joyful
